    The honest bit

    Will they stay up?

Ask anyone who has put bats on a wall in October. The joke tells itself: fingers crossed they don't leap off the chimney before Halloween. So here is the straight answer.

    They hold on

    • Painted drywall
    • Glass and mirrors
    • Tile
    • Sealed wood and painted doors
    • Metal and laminate

    They don't

    • Brick and stucco
    • Textured or popcorn walls
    • Paint less than 30 days old
    • Anything dusty or greasy

Every one of these is a wall you're allowed to use

Renting? All eight are yours, and not one of them needs a nail.

Put them up October 1st and not one has fallen down. That was genuinely the only thing I was worried about.

For once the photos are not exaggerating. It honestly looks better than the pictures once the lights are off.

I rent and I cannot put a single nail in a wall. Took them off my hallway in November and there was not one mark.

Twelve minutes, including standing there deciding where they went. My husband thought I had been at it all afternoon.

My four year old asks to turn the bats on before bed. It is the nightlight now and I am not taking them down.

Bigger than I expected, which basically never happens. The large ones are a proper hand span. Wish the remote had a longer range.

    30day returns

Put them up. If they don't do what these photos show, send them back.

No forms, no photographs of the box, no restocking fee. Halloween is once a year and you don't get a second try at it, so the risk is ours.

    Questions people actually ask

    Will they damage my paint?

They come off painted drywall clean when you go slowly and pull the adhesive tab flat along the wall instead of straight out. On fresh paint, under 30 days old, don't risk it. That is true of every adhesive product, and we would rather say it than have you find out.

How long do the batteries last?

About 3 months of continuous light. Run them in the evenings and one set covers the whole season. The timer on the remote does that for you.

    Can I use them outside?

On a covered porch or on the inside of window glass, yes. In open weather, no. The pucks are splash resistant, not weatherproof, and wind will beat the adhesive.

Can I use them again next year?

Yes. Back in the box with fresh adhesive squares. That is exactly why the adhesive is a separate part instead of pre-stuck to the bats.

When do I need to order?

Order by October 20 to have them before Halloween. After that we cannot promise it, and we would rather tell you than take your money.
